Was Bush high on Friday?

Yes, he was. Whether he was high on life or high on something else, I can't tell. But he was bright and shiney compared to the first debate. When I saw the Wired thread, at first I thought it was going to be about his affect and whether it was artificially induced.

They probably just fed him a few espressos and sent him out there. Bush usually goes to bed around 8:30PM ... with the debates just getting rolling @ 9PM you can just imagine how sleepy he must be...

Another thread claimed he was wired. Really just a question of semantics.

But daveshel already covered that joke.

I wish I could get that as much sleep and vacation as he does. But then again, everyone who's not on welfare probably does as well.

He?s all coked up! That was my first reaction when I saw Friday?s debate.

I thought that because of his hyper-manic behavior during the first half of the debate, but he wasn't doing that sniffling that I associate with people who I know use coke. (People who've snorted recently sniffle a lot because the powder acts as an irritant as it dissolves in the sinuses, which causes extra mucus production.)

Thinking about it rationally, it's equally possible that he slammed a couple Red Bulls before the debate, or else he took a super dose of NoDoz. The man was definitely on some kind of stimulant though, and it was slowly wearing off over the course of the debate.

Why? His behavior was definitely not normal compared to what we are used to seeing from Bush. To anybody who is familiar with the effects, Bush appeared to be under the influence of strong stimulants. I'm commenting here because I feel validated to know that I'm not the only person who noticed this immediately when I started to watch Friday's debate.

That's the bush I hoped to see the first debate.

He was well rested this time. The previous debate he spent the day with hurricane victims while Kerry was chillin in a spa with some geisha's or something.

Bush works hard...."it's hard work" not sure what kerry does.

Kerry was off 3 days prior to this last debate and he was at the top of his game.

Bush was too.

Bring on debate #3!!!

Judging from Bush's past alcoholism and drug use, along with the fact that he never received real treatment for his addictions, there is a high probability that the pressure to perform after his disastrous showing in the first debate could easily have led Bush to backslide into dependence.

Just my observation from the available facts and my experience with alcoholics and drug addicts.

The cocaine addicts I have known/seen never seem to totally recover. It's like it steals part of their soul they never get back.

Trying to prove that the President is using stimulants to enhance his job performance is practically impossible. There are conspiracy rumors concerning Lance Armstrong pertaining to blood transfusions and wonder drugs that can fool conventional testing.

How about a poll option "No, liberals will come up with any excuse they can for Bush doing so well against Kerry in the 2nd debate"

Actually that might be my second choice after my earlier "lock" option.
