Downloading something for personal use is one thing, selling someone elses work is a whole different story. It's good you reported him.

I'm not sure you have seen any DVD-R releases lately :p this movie was released in perfect dvd quality wiht all audio and all subs.

and while I don't think what he is doing is right I don't think it was necessary to report him to the MPAA.

Was I an asshole ?

if you did it because you think that what he is doing is wrong and you did it for that reason then no your not. if you'r a pirate and you just did it out of doredom then yes, yes you are.

doesn't the mpaa only govern the US? I'm not sure what they cover, but it looks like this guy is in the United Kingdom. So what can the MPAA do? Just wondering...

course ebay just averts its eyes at such things. ignorance is apparently a legal defence in this sorta thing. they get paid either way. thats why so much stuff gets past em:p annoying as f*ck though.

They probably take action through internation copyrights, which I believe the UK honors. ;)

The MPAA/RIAA have no effect in the UK, they can't do anything to a British citizen for selling fake dvd's. It would have to be a British LEO bring the case.

Well selling pirated moves and songs is a legitimate crime. I'm not sure of your motives, but there's no question it's an acceptable thing to do; reporting someone who eally is stealing doens't make you an asshole.

Reporting someone who downloads mp3 or divx to enjoy at home would make you an asshole though.
