Note: You can actually pay cash for packs and cards and such, but you can also play for free. Of course some things you don't get if you don't doll out $$$, but hey.

Personal thoughts - it's not "interactive" which sucks. The game is basically decided before a match starts (you don't have to watch/interact at all if you don't want to - it still plays). If you're thinking there's strategy like the good old CCGs, basically the strat is all in deck building and praying that the RNG rolls your way.

Have fun ATOT. Hopefully you'll waste as much time owning this web game as you did OGame and whatever the Greek one was.

Hey folks,

The guys and I here at Liquid Entertainment really liked Warstorm. We played it a bunch and, like you, were sad and upset when Zynga shut it down. We all felt like we *owned* the cards and it wasn't right for them to just kill the game like that. It got us talking and thinking about doing a card game that was inspired by Warstorm but took the next step in (digital) collectible card gameplay. Battle Realms Alpha was the result.

The core combat in Battle Realms Alpha is inspired by Warstorm. We wanted to be able to have fast matches with fun/good/solid/interesting strategies. Then we started building more coolness around that. We’re planning nifty elements like quests, training, heroes, items, and more, and we're putting them in a package that will come out for iPhone as well as Facebook. Yep, that's right, cross-platform play that you can enjoy anywhere :)

The setting is going to be our Battle Realms universe which we also love and is full of lots of great characters. The way we see it, we're trying to build a game two groups. (1) Those Warstorm fans (us included) that got left out in the cold. (2) Friends of the Battle Realms universe (us included).

It's a great chance for everyone to get in on the conversation about the making of the game and perhaps even influence its development. In the coming days we're going to open a new chat channel on our forums www.goliquid.us and we really want to hear what you liked and hated about Warstorm and other card games for that matter. There's only one goal here. Best...Card...Game...Ever.

As for when this thing will be finished, we're hoping for mid-2012, and around that timeframe we'll open registration for beta testers. It's going to be really cool so I hope you can come by and be a part of it!

Thanks,
