After months of rumors that his role was in flux, Warren Spector has decided to leave Ion Storm. British publisher Eidos, which owns Ion Storm, the studio behind the Deus Ex and Thief franchises, confirmed Spector's departure to GameSpot today. ?Eidos announces that Warren Spector has relinquished his role as studio director at Ion Storm," said a spokesperson for the publisher.

I really liked what they did with Theif 3 and I think Spector played a strong hand in its development. From what I understand, some of the Looking Glass guys (original Theif team) now work at Ion Storm and worked on T3. Lets hope T4 comes out and it good.

DAIKATANA!!!!

Spector didnt work on Diakatana, that was Romero. Spector did Deus Ex 1 and 2, and Theif 3. 2/3 isnt a bad batting average in this industry.

DOMINION!!!
Nope, that was a game they picked up just to have something out while Romero diddled Stevie Case and the company, but good!

And before you post "ANACHRONOX!!!, that was Tom Hall's game.

Thanks for playing!

Warren Spector worked on the System Shock games as well, I believe. The man is good, lots of talent. Sad to see him go, hopefully he'll get employed at a good studio with other highly talented people.

Ultima Underworld!

System Shock!

Hopefully Spector will find a studio that will let him do more good games like those. Eidos is the home of junk like Tomb Raider - Angel of Darkness.

Wherever he goes, I hope he ends up with a very talented team who brings a whole new and revolutionary experience to the table.
