Warranty with Intel

How is Intel with their warranty?

I bought it at Fry's. Can I go back to Fry's to get it replaced? Intel's website says that I can go to the retailer, but retailers can be difficult with warrantes.

Also, what if the CPU damages other componenets. Are they covered as well?
