Before buying any of these cards and intended for others who don't know, I felt it would be a good idea to discuss these companies tech support for their products. I've mainly dealt with cards made by ATI itself and 1 card the Sapphire 9000 (didn't have an issue with it and never needed their support) and would love to know also some info on the other companies.

So here's the line up so far not in any particular order.

ATI 3870X2

1 year (parts and labor)
Powercolor
Diamond
HIS

3 years (parts and labor)
Asus

Lifetime (parts and labor)
Sapphire
Visiontek

I've heard enough about Sapphire to know to stay away from them not because of bad products but because of their tech/customer support in dealing with cards that do happen to develop issues later on. Of course, they are the only ones with the lifetime warranty. A friend of mine has an HIS nvidia and something did go wrong and he had no problem whatsoever in dealing with that company at all.

Based on current comments:

Powercolor (0)
Diamond (0)
HIS (-1)
Asus (+1)
Sapphire (-1)
Visiontek (0)

EDIT: I'm editing the warranty list as I go along. It was based on newegg's listing but seems they got some wrong.

True that about 3 years. Which in the past is usually how long I've kept mine. I've only had this x1650 for about 1/2 year looks like I broke my old habit. :)

I ordered the HIS one only because the Asus was out of stock and of course for the free screw driver hehe.

You must be mistaken about this...

1) HIS doesn't make NVIDIA cards.
2) HIS customer service is terrible.

does this sound like a customer service oriented company to you?

About warranty All HIS graphic cards carry one year warranty. For more warranty information, you can contact your local retailer or regional distributor.

http://www.hisdigital.com/html/contactus.htm

I DO NOT recommend HIS. I had a 3 month RMA with HIS with an X1900XTX a while back. Only buy an HIS card from a reputable dealer with a good return policy. You don't want to end up dealing with their N. American distributor. They don't handle their own RMA's directly, so you ship the broken card to the distributor, they ship it to Hong Kong, and you wait and wait... Overall their cards are fine, but their service just sucks.

Your friend probably had an EVGA or BFG card. They make NVIDIA cards and have top notch warranties and decent service.

I'll have to question him about that again then. He's the one that steered me to get the HIS.

Newegg's info on warranties is wrong. You need to check manufacturer websites for accurate info.

Jeez, they haven't gotten a lot of things right with the description on some of the cards also. What's up with them lately.
