I have an OLD 12 Gig Maxtor which is coming to the end of its warranty day.
3 year old drive has been filled with bad sectors and now it has just stopped working.
Anyone know if I send this in for warranty will Maxtor fix it and give it back and if they can't fix it will I get a new drive of the same model back?
I don?t think they make this drive at all. It?s VERY OLD??? Anyone know?

If drive is still under warranty they will replace it with new drive, if they no longer have that drive I would assume they'd give ya something comparable, like a 15gig or something......for warranty Info and request RMA go here....just in case you didn't have link.

By all means do it NOW!! I just returned a Seagate 4 GB drive that only 1 month left on the 3 years. They sent me a new 20 GB 7200RPM drive made this year. Maxtor will do the same. Forget calling them, just fill out the form over the net, get an RMA # and send back the drive. RRRRRRRRR
