As much a flaw with the Zen's design as with the Athlon itself having that unprotected core.

I'm starting a petition to have this kind of thing prevented in future.

Sorry about your loss....:frown: I just about ordered one, but am quite happy with the watercooling setup on my primary rig. Do you think that you could use a trace pen to patch up your 7DXR? I fit the Alpha 8045 on a 7DXR that I have been fooling with, and it fits, but a cap has to be bent out of the way. It would not be a HS that I would want to remove/install often.

It seems a shim may be in order for peeps wanting to use the Zen Rad, along with a careful measurement of their board and layout, since Plycon will not accept any returns or refunds on it. In another configuration, the Zen Rad concept has great potential.
