I got this BSOD and then I changed boot device order from floppy something dvd drive to floppy dvd drive something and now i get this message that says reboot and select proper boot device OR insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

What is your boot device? And why do you have it starting with floppy?
What were you doing on the machine before you got the BSOD? Why did you change the boot sequence? What OS?

Win xp home. I wanst doing anyhting before i got the message. I restarted my comp, i may have had some things running including outlook/trillian. Ok my boot device is floppy first, then something I'm not sure (probably a disk drive that i have i have 3), then my DVD drive. I changed it just as a blind guess... I changed it back and now I get the same blue scree. RPCRT4.dll

I have it starting with floppy because that was the default. Now it goes past the windows screen then gets the blue screen.

STOP: c0000135
This Application failed to start because RPCRT4.dll is missing;
reinstalling may fix the problem

thats the error

also, i cant get into safe mode. F8 on my computer just brings up the pick the book device screen...I dont know what key gets me to the XP safe mode options...

I Have a cyberpowerinc computer!

SOMEONE HELP!

Well thanks for nothing...I fixed the problem myself although it got hairy. Long story short WATCH OUT FOR TROJANS!!!! I got one that downloaded all this adware and messed with my registry. That explains why RPCRT4.dll a REMOTE internet type dll was the messed up one. it downloaded SH!TLOADS of programs onto my comp. but at least I've had teh chance to back up everything.

Well I just read through the posts on this thread and certainly was not happy when I got to that last entry.

I trust that you will be able to independently solve any future problems you may encounter.😛
