Warning to video card overclockers!

People tell you buy 6600gt (or higher) and oc it like crazy,
The best tactic is to ignore all overclocking comments. Most people don't have a clue anyway, they just see little Johnny get X/Y MHz on his card so they jump straight to that number only to find a damaged card as the result. Then it's RMA time because the card is "defective" and we end up paying for it.
 
sorry for ressurecting this old thread: but what if an AGP 6600GT has 2.0 ram and runs 900MHz, would it be relatively safe to overclock it to 1000MHz?

Yes, that will generally be safe. But make sure that your temps are okay.
