A few months back, many people purchased from TigerDirect have been charged $61.02 monthly for the long distance service plan from AMR, which customers don't know, neither authorize.

If you ever bought from them, please check your credit card bill.

Best wish to anyone not gets burn from TigerDirect's hot deal.

 
I've seen a lot of bad press about Tiger Direct here on these forums, and have let it influence my purchasing decisions on several occasions.

There have been a few occasions where the price on one of their items was good enough for me to risk dealing with them. Not once have I had a bad experience. They have always sent me the advertised item at the advertised price, and I have never had any extraneous charges applied to my credit card, etc.

Just my $0.02.
 
I thought that when this story first broke that a member of Tiger Direct's management posted a reply saying that they would stop this practice?
 
use your credit card's 1 time # generator. I know AMEX has one and so does discover. Those will protect you from such things happening.

I've been defending TigerDirect for a long time...ordered lots of stuff and no problems whatsoever.

I have ordered from them on 5 different occassions and have only had my CC# sold on two of those occassions. They're not scamming everybody ever time, just 40% of the time it appears. However, I had no problems getting my Mastercard to drop the charges. They said they do it all the time from ppl who order from Tigerdirect.
