Warning for Troller

I have no problem with people expressing their opinion, but I believe that manowar821 is doing nothing but trolling in the following thread:

Time For A Religion Thread

I understand that religion is a heated topic, and probably better served for P&N but to me it seems like all he wants to do is spread hate and misinformation, not debate in a civilized manner.

For example his post here:

I am in school for theology, and did some google searching before I posted my reply, I wanted to see myself if he was writing from some real mythology I had not read, when I posted back I simply asked if it was from the mythology of Enoch (which was stretching it for what he posted, in fact I can not find anything that sounds remotely like what he was talking about) or if he was just spewing hate for the heck of it (trolling imho.)

It's more that I enjoy amusing myself with this sort of thing. Also, the christian god really is a fucking asshole.

It seems like positive proof of trolling here, and generally spiteful at that. I believe the thread has a great discussion going on very maturely, and idiot like him, who just want to spew hate can derail a good discussion easily.

so, can we get a warning?

OP, while i agree with you, if you are trying to have a useful, intelligent discussion regarding religion here, don't bother. it's useless with all the smug, know it all, self-righteous ignoramus' here.

any religion thread = doomed. it's better to just move along and find another venue for those discussions.

Someone comes in trying to make these forums a legitimately better place for a frank, honest and open discussion, and people belittle his efforts with a dismissive "hah, n00b, welcome to the internet, we're all assholes!" Well played AT. Well played. Shame on us for believing that the users of these forums are actually capable of having a serious discussion about a topic without it turning into trolling...

Although it's true, religion threads on ATOT almost never end well.

Hm, I doubt most kids really get too fired up over religious discussions. It is more likely adults, deeply trenched in their own beliefs, that take offense and spew out garbage.

I know when I was 13 I didn't care about religion enough to argue with some person on an internet forum.
