WARNING FOR FEDORA CORE 6

If you're planning on installing Fedora Core 6 and have a Nvidia card, you might want to hold off until it matures a bit more, because right now any rpm repositories to get Nvidia through, "livna", the most popular does not have Nvidia updated to work properly for FC6.

But if someone has a fix for this that works, please share it.

I personally chatted online, irc.freenode.net in the #fedora channel, and looked through the Fedora Forums, and found no solution from anyone. 🙁

Looks like you'll have to dig and play through this.

ALOHA

how about removing livna repos at least for a while?

It's not an official repository anyways.

only reason why it's installed on my fc box is so that I could have mp3s playing in xmms.

Using the nVidia proprietaary drivers is dumb anyways.

I can never keep straight what is recommended to use for nVidia or ATI. I eventually want to set up XGL to work on my Ubuntu laptop (with a Radeon Mobility 9600) and I'm going to have to figure out which freaking driver I should use. I've always just used whatever is installed by default.

I couldn't get it to work either. Been searching for a solution to no avail.

I have nvidia driver working, I don't use livna, I just installed it manually... and there's bug during installation 😀
