To those of you who negotiated the Sprint 3650 minutes for $35.99 deal and are trying to take advantage of the Staples A400 deal, think again. I bought the A400 from Staples and was trying to add it to my Sprint plan to take advantage of the rebates. It turns out that any plan from Sprint retention services is not eligible to have another phone added on to it. So you can't get the $180 dollar rebate for the phone unless you activate a new plan.

It's for new activations, but that includes adding a new number onto your exisiting plan. Unfortunately the retention plans don't allow for more than one phone.

Yeh, they were new activations whcih equals a new account. Just adding another phone number to an existing account will not qualify you for either the $110 or $70 rebate. The fact that you are under a retention plan has nothing to do with it. You cannot get the rebate even if you activate a new line under a Sprint account that has already completed its contractual agreement. This discussion seems to popup everytime there is a good deal on a Sprint PCS phone, but the terms for Sprint PCS phones are ALWAYS the same. I talked to the Sprint PCS rep abount this Staples/Sprint PCS rebate offer and was told that both the $70 rebate and the $110 rebate were both being paid by Sprint even though the $110 is exclusive to Staples.
