I have tested InCD 4.3 on a notebook and two desktop systems, all running WinXP SP2. I did this because a fresh OS and software installation on a desktop would absolutely NOT boot into Safe Mode. This happened twice before I decided to buckle down to the task and find out WTH was causing it. I reinstalled the OS cleanly and proceeded to test for ability to boot to Safe Mode after each and every driver and application installation. The problem was caused by InCD. As a test I installed InCD on two other machines, a notebook and wife's desktop. Killed off ability to boot to Safe Mode on both systems. Removed InCD, Safe Mode restored to normal function.

I searched briefly on line, but I didn't find any references to the problem. I went to the Ahead software site to submit a report, but I got sick of the dumb support form and gave up. Maybe my attitude will improve by morning. Got a headache after doing three WinXP installations this weekend while trying to get other stuff done.

Obviously I'm not really asking a question here, just posting on the off chance that the information could be useful to someone. It would be a bummer to need Safe Mode and not be able to get into it just because you had installed this dumb packet writer.
