Warning about Kazaa

recently a friend of mine tried to download Kazaa from download.com and it was full of trojan horses and worms. I dont know about the main site download but thought you might want to know

current virus software such as norton 2k4 might pick it up as a virus, i'm not sure. i don't think it harms your computer though...

i reccomend buying limewire pro, for music; and some anime, it's the best p2p file sharing program i've ever used.

i could put the install on my ftp for download but that would be ILLEGAL

Not trying to start anything, but your friend is wrong. It may have SPYWARE, but download.com will not and does not have any program with a virus or trojan in it. There is a chance she may have already had a re-directed browser, or mis-typed download.com. They are the largest service of their kind, and they virus scan all of their software and files.
 
I just downloaded it from download.com.

I run AVG as well and I got nothing. Maybe there's a virus already on the computer that's infecting exe files when written.
 
With current Defs I just downloaded, installed, and scanned kazaa. AVG didn't detect anything. Either it was a pre-existing virus/trojan, or the heuristics are up too high and picking up the spyware.
