This isn't anything new, happens all the time.
It is just a automated program sending out DMCA violations to things it finds.

You can even stick some keywords in your post, and the bot will send AT a DMCA takedown notice...

Exactly, it's not like someone actually goes through web pages looking for stuff, it's a program.

right, but it's nonetheless funny. now imagine how many false positives there are if WB's own sites are getting DMCA takedown notices.

And how grossly misreported piracy is.

"Look at those bastard pirates! They stole $1.3 BILLION from us!"

*cough* Uh sir, 99% of that is hits from our own site and other false positives.

"Those dang pirate hackers have shut down our sites, causing us to loose even more monies!"

*cough* Uh sir, that was us again...we shut ourselves down.

"Fetch the lawyers, pitchforks, and torches! Off to the presses, we're going bankrupt from pirates!"

The fun thing about programs is they do what they're told. Maybe those mouth breathers should think about excluding their own domains. Or get really crazy, and just don't worry about it. Warner are the biggest dicks in the business, and border on being trolls.

It was Warner Bros who tried to stop the Marx Brothers using the word 'Casablanca' for their 'A Night in Casablanca' film. Leading to a slightly-famous response from Groucho (in which he pointed out that his family were trading under the word 'Brothers' long before Warner was)

..."Even if they plan on re-releasing the picture, I am sure that the average movie fan could learn to distinguish between Ingrid Bergman and Harpo. I don't know whether I could, but I certainly would like to try."
