If people read the OP of threads before responding, they should be able to see that it's an ancient thread.

WTF?! You think this is 1970 or something.? This is 2010. Nobody takes personal responsibility for anything. Nobody puts forth any effort for anything. If they can't click on it and it doesn't magically become what they think it should be, their panties get all knotted up and they go crying home to mommy.

Most people are not in the habit of checking the date on every thread they read, because most threads that are on the first page of a forum are recent.

I don't understand your resistance to implementing a feature that is useful. The functionality is free and is used by many forums.
