Hey everyone,

I ordered the Netgear MR814 wireless router and Logitech ClickSmart 310 combo from Amazon.com on November 16 as I'm sure a lot of you did. They over charged me by $7. It looks like when my order was split up some funny calculations were done and I wasn't charged correctly ($54.95). I just called and got the credit... check your statements!

Edit:

It looks like this issue is bigger than just the netgear combo. According to Bowfinger and Yo2 below, other combos have been overcharged for the super saver shipping. (Is it just when they're split up?) So everyone check those cards!

I had the same problem but an e-mail to them promptly took care of it for me.

Thanks for the heads up. Just looked over my statement and noticed they charged me shipping when I choose the free super saver shipping option. I better check my other orders. THanks again.

I had a similar problem on a different Amazon combo deal. It showed the right discount in the cart, but came up $5.00 too high on checkout. When I contacted them by e-mail, they blew me off - "we assure you that you will be charged correctly," blah, blah, blah. Of course, I was charged the wrong amount, so I had to contact them again once I received the order. This time they agreed to credit my card for the $5.00. We'll see if they followed through. In the meantime, I am reconciling all of my Amazon orders with my credit card statements.

This is the third or fourth pricing problem I've noticed on Amazon over the last couple of months. Watch them closely, make sure you're getting the deal you think you are.

Yeah, I got the $7.xx credited after an email. It was quite funny to see the Reps respond. I've got some of the emails:

I ordered a bundle Netgear MR814 802.11b Wireless and a Logitech ClickSmart 310 that qualified for Super-Saver shipping. Unfortunately, the Logitech Cicksmart shipment was delayed so the Netgear MR814 was shipped earlier. However, I was charged shipping for the Netgear MR814 even though I chose the Free Super-Saver Shipping Method.I waited for my Logitech Clicksmart to ship to see if the order would be adjusted but it was not. What can I do?

I have investigated your order (#103-1977140-3353464) and can assure you that the promotional offer and the Super saver free shipping was applied to this order. The remaining $62.30 was charged to your credit card.

I apologize that this distribution of charges was not accurately displayed in "Your Account." Our developers are currently working hard to correct this error.

Thank you for shopping at Amazon.com. We hope to see you again soon.

Well, that?s the problem, it's supposed to be $54.95 not $62.30. It seems that the billing has changed for reaons on your end. I'll run it down for you if you'd like:

Logitech ClickSmart 310 Spe - $44.94
Negear MR814 Wirelss Router - $59.95

Item(s) Subtotal - $104.89
Shipping & Handling - $7.94
Best Value Savings - -$44.94
Super Saver Discount - -$7.94
Promotional Certificates - -$5.00

Total - $54.95

You see, I used a promotional coupon which gave me $5 off. Now when the order was split, if you look at the Clicksmart, I'm supposed to be credited $45.53 because of the free shipping. However, at the end, I'm only credited $44.94. The split order makes the shipping totalaly wrong. $104.89 (Item Total) - $44.94 (Savings) = $59.95 (Sub Total). Now we subract $5 for my coupon and come to $54.95 (Total). Shipping is supposed to be free so its irrelevant in this calculation. If you still don't understand, I can help you out over the phone.

Thanks Again...

Lost their responce but it was something "We are sorry for the error, your credit card will be credited $7.xx. Amazon.com and you're done". Few days later the money was credited...

I had the same problem with 2 combos I ordered separately. I e-mailed them and the first guy who got it sent me back some baloney about this order not being elligible for free saver shipping. :|

Well too bad I said - they quted everything without any shipping cost and they were not authorized to deduct one more cent than what they quoted. So I pointed that out in my second message and someone with a brain picked it up and resolved it :)

Bottomline - don't even get into any technicalities about what was ordered when and how it got shipped - it all does not matter. Send them a copy of your order confirmation and request that they adjust the charges to whatever they quoted. If that does not work, (because an imbecile works your case) keep the e-mails and send them to the CC company and request that they adjust it

It truely is amazing (pun intended) how amazon works.

I ordered two items, a scanner and a laser printer. The scanner qualified under their free shipping, the printer did not.

Went thru the checkout process and all, even used some price reduction shinanigans :).

Bottom line, they didn't charge shipping for either one, even though one came from the east coast, other from the west (im in chicago).

Go figure.

Btw, the scanner was an epson 1260 and printer was a minolta 1250w (which at the time did not have the free shipping icon in the item description).

With alot of these places, always best to check against your printed statements

Ditto to all on getting it resolved. My total after savings was $2.04, but the amount charged was $7.04. A simple phone call to them resolved it.
