Can you record 2 shows at once with this card, or is it just for watching one while you record with the other?

You can record two shows or watch 1 and record another.

Any info on getting the $10 off? I created an account and can't seem to find any information on a $10 coupon code or anything.

Very nice card. It comes with no software but works with several, MythPC, Windows MCE(duh), etc. You can record 2 shows at once too.

The $10 off might be dead now 🙁 It was active last week IIRC, and I used it when I ordered this card a couple weeks ago.

It was active when I was looking for a pro duo card for my psp. Didn't sign up for it, since they weren't in stock at the time. I'm sure you can find the link at FW. I'm gonna have to use that $10off for this instead.

"System Requirements: Windows XP Media Center Edition"

Is this true or will it work on XP?

if its a pvr-500 then it will work with lots of software. If it doesn't then it wasn't a 500 and you can return it. Otherwise it would be fraud. It should be a safe buy.

It works with XP> Hauppauge tends to "officially" support very few things> I works with SageTV and a bunch of other software as stated above>

AS they said:
System Requirements:

Processor requirements: Pentium® IV processor 1.2GHz or faster for TV pause with full screen playback

Windows®XP Media Center Edition 2005, WindowsXP Home or WindowsXP Professional
Note: when using the WinTV-PVR-500MCE with WindowsXP, you need a third party TV application such as MythTV, SageTV or BeyondTV

Free PCI slot

Sound card

VGA card (PCI or AGP) with Media Center 2005 certified driver
DVD decoder certified for use with Media Center 2005

The 150 has been <$70 for a while now - regular version on sale at CompUSA, and MCE version at Amazon

Since the 500 saves you a PCI slot (think SFF case) then it's a really good deal.

It does work with XP. In fact, my 150 (the single tuner version) works better with XP+3rd party apps than with Media Center.

Media Center only seemed to want to pickup the coaxial input - I couldn't get it to input via the S-video or component.
