West Virginia will be having a sales tax holiday this coming weekend. It starts at 12:01am Friday, August 2nd and runs through midnight Sunday, August 4th. It is for school supplies, including clothes, shoes, paper, computers and accessories(not digicams, MP3 players, games, etc.), and more. Any single item under $100 is not assessed tax, and there's no limit on the number of items.
Details, including lists of exempt items
I don't know if someone without school-age kids can avoid paying tax - probably not, since the state legislature never met a tax they didn't like. It's worth a try, however. Hope you can benefit from it.
have fun,
