ninety-six or sixteen, which temperature range is preferable to you?

I call warm... a lot of people say that cold is better because you can always layer up clothes, but being super cold = painful, while being hot is just uncomfortable. plus, the warmer it is outside, the less clothing girls are wearing :p

To me, 96 isn't nearly as extreme as 6 below. I'd take 96 any day...especially if it's away from southern humidity

I can't be in an extreme of either. My body has very little control over it's temp now. I've come inside from the cold and checked my temp at 95F degrees. After that I shivered for hours under a bunch of blankets with my space heater cranking and wound up with a fever of 103F...then had to cool down again. In summer, I need to be very careful of heat stroke since my body doesn't sweat, either.

I'd rather be cold, my body doesn't like extreme heat. I generate a lot of heat, so cold winters don't bother me, I love the snow!

You can always put more clothes/blanket on.... you can only get so naked though. Heat is much worse in my opinion.

7 below is life threatening. 96 isnt. I think 110 vs below zero would be a better comparison.

It's one of the reasons I moved back to MI from GA. I can't stand the heat. -6 right now, but I was fine walking in to work this morning.

Like that twilight zone episode where the earth was moving closer to the sun, but it was actually a dream and it was going towards pluto.

I can deal with hot and humid. A pair of shorts and plenty of sweat and I'm comfortable.
If it gets too hot at night, I turn the ceiling fan on low and the sweat I produce creates a swamp cooler effect. I enjoy smelling bad, too.
Cold sucks. There's no escape. Even when I turn the heat up I'm still cold. If I build a fire in the fireplace it gets screamin hot but then my sinuses dry out and I have a headache.
Cold sucks.
Did I say cold sucks?

Cold.
[*]When it is too cold, put on more clothes, and you are just fine for the rest of the day.
[*]When it is too hot, you sweat, feel slimy from the sweat, and stink the rest of the day. You could take a shower, but as soon as you are out, you are overheated again and the problem repeats.
Thus cold is fixable, hot isn't.

This is how I think of it. 72°F is comfortable for just about everyone. Would you rather be 50°F hotter: at 122°F? Or would you rather be 50°F colder: at 22°F? That is a fair comparison. And almost anyone would answer colder. Why would you only go up 24°F but go down 56°F, what an unfair comparison! Heck almost anyone can tollerate double the temperature drop than they can tolerate a temperature rise.
