Warm??? Toshiba Laptop 899.97 after rebate from CompUsa

Compusa has Satellite 1005-S157 Notebook
Intel® Celeron? Processor-M, 1.06GHz, 256MB RAM, 15GB Hard Drive, 14.1-inch TFT Display, DVD Drive, Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition for 999.97 with a 100.00 rebate. No nic card as far as I can tell and only 8 meg video. Anyone have one of this, if so, any good?

it is a warm deal i guess, some one on a low budget can get that...my friend got a 900Mhz pentium laptop from dell for $2700 I think. it only had the DVD-rom. the laptop u mentioned for $900 is a cool deal.

Circuit City B&M have this laptop for $799. That's $999 - $200 in rebates. So you might want to check your local CC to see if they have any. I wish it had a SXGA+ screen...

Does anyone know if there is much of a performace differnce between these celerons and the P3's? Or between celerons and durons? I keep telling myself that there is a huge difference between these mobile celerons and mobile P3s, but i have been hearing there isn't as much of a difference as there used to be.

The circuit city web site shows a price of $1099.99. Did you're local store have it for $999.99.

Yeah, CC's website has it for $1099, but the local B&M (2 of them actually) has it for $999 - $200 = $799.

no it doesnt. look closely and read that you have to add it to your cart to see the price for 999. then subtract the MIR of $100.
