ZainyBrainy is going out of business and is at 30-40% off right now. Wife just got Bionicles for $3.33@, as well as some BIG lego sets (Harry Potter) cheap! Also there are Thomas The Tank Engine sets (wooden, etc). Lots of goodies!!!

Zainy Brainy used to be an awesome store. I have a 9-year-old daughter and when she was in the 2-4 year-old range, they had lots of unique items in their store. However, for the past 5 years, they've switched their merchandise over to "commodity-type" stuff that you could basically purchase from any other store. The lost the destinction that they once had - and apparently, lost a fair number of customers which has put them into the current situation of shutting their stores down.

I remember when the store by me used to have a mini-theater. Kids could sit in a few rows of theater seats and watch movies on a big screen RPTV. After a few years, they pulled the plug on this. Again, they used to be destinct ... now, they're going to be extinct.

FAO Schwarz (same company) are closing a lot of stores also. I know the one here in Troy, MI is clearing everything out cheap.

Just a little update regarding Zainy Brainy. I saw their ad in the Washington Post yesterday. For the locations in Northern Virginia & Maryland, they are selling off their current stock to make room for new merchandise. It looks like they are making one last attempt to salvage their business. Hopefully, they start bringing back the creative toys that they once carried and not the same stuff that you can get at Wal-Mart or Toys "R" Us.
