I had an older version of this remote, and it was junk. Actually, I take that back - the remote itself was fine, but the usability and design were awful. It looks like they have corrected some of the issues (mine only had a handful of "real" buttons) but the simple truth is, a remote that you need two hands to operate is just not worth it.

Edit: If you are a humongoid geek, you might like it. :) However, while it was great to find a remote that would operate 8 different components and had screen-labeled buttons for everything, it was just a hassle to have a big square remote lying around, you really did need two hands free to use it, the LCD buttons while a neat gimimck were not practical since you had to be looking at the remote and READING the buttons to find what you wanted to hit, etc, etc. Compared to a well designed handheld (normal) remote that you can operate in the dark without paying any attention to what you're doing, it just wasn't worth it.

WOW! $85 for a remote. Didn't know they were that steep. But them again I'm used to buying the RCA FAR versions from OM or some such place.

I received this remote as a Christmas gift last year and I love it. It controls my TV, VCR, DVD, Cable Box and Receiver. Turns the whole deal on or off with a single button. The most frequently used functions are good-sized buttons on the lower half. Everything else in controlled on the LCD touchscreen. My only complaint is the need to replace batteries about every 90 days. Not a perfect product but I can't imagine using my HT without it!

Huh, I wonder what this has different vs. my RM-AV3000. Either way, I like my remote a lot.
