If you missed the buy.com DOTD then here is another chance for you to get a 10K SCSI drive. Egghead has a Western Digital 18GB SCSI hard drive for $159.99. Now this drive may not have the specs of the Seagate Cheetah but is does cost less and it will smoke any IDE drive.

Edit: here is a 80 Pin to 68/50 pin adapter for 9.95

nightowl: You may want to double check that the adaptor will work with ultra2 drives. You have to get a special on for that

Egghead was packaging this adapter with this drive that they had on auction so I am assuming that it would work. I know that it does not say specifically that it will work though.

I have been a SCSI user for a very long time and have pitched its attributes to colleagues of mine ... that is until I got me a IBM 75GXP IDE drive. On my 1.1Ghz Athlon I find its performance nothing short of impressive.

If someone can guide me to a speed comparison between the 75GXP series drives and UWSCSI drives ... I would appreciate it.
