S.C. rain, 27 tonight and 21tomorrow night. @zinfamous the deadly black ice will be out and about.
We got snow and hail last night in GA. Freaking 24 F this morning and 27 F now. My pellet grill cover froze and ripped when I tried to remove it this morning. Southern ice is no joke.

We managed to keep our snow as it cooled off and the rain froze over. Now the roads are all washboard ice though. Pretty terrible to drive on, rattle your tooth fillings right out!

yeah that always happens when you get rain in December. Nasty lumpy ice all over the roads. People die in that crap.

My neck of the woods is expected to get warm rain again on New Years.
Many of you will seeing a pretty serious winter storm. Make sure you have candles and food and water ready to go.

Finally cold again, with a bit of snow in the forecast. I hope we get a decent amount of snow to fill in all the roughness of the road though. That rain we got ruined everything. Everything is so bumpy and rough it makes driving terrible. The suspension, it does nothing.

The problem is the rain turns into ice and makes everything rough and uneven. So when you do need to shovel snow you don't have a smooth surface to shovel off of anymore.

We had a bit of snow overnight here. I might actually just let it pack down over the ice so I can get my driveway smooth again.

55 degrees this afternoon. Not sure what this means for January. I bet its real bad.

Like, in weather pattern terms? No idea, but off the top of my head, we've had some warm January's and it's just kept going (in the last decade)

DFW..snow. How do I know that? Wife took the kid to the airport for his 1st solo aero plane ride to Colorado. Not. Cancelled until tomorrow which means I may have to get up at 5AM and take him.

More or less normal winter weather now. We got around 20cm of snow or so the other day, and it's the normal snow, not the nasty icy stuff, so it was easy to get off the vehicle and easy to shovel. Most of the jagged ice on the roads is now covered so the roads are smoother now. Now if it can just stay below zero so we can keep everything nice.

Sounds crappy. It's like at least 20 degrees warmer than normal here but still below zero at least, so things are not messy or wet. Been going out for lot of walks while I can. February will probably be colder. I find our Februaries now are basically what our Januaries are suppose to be.

We ended up getting a 15 inch dump of wet cement the last two days.

Now it's partly cloudy mid-30's and the main roads are just wet... seems like when I was a kid you got a storm like this and it stuck around for weeks.

I give this round a few days before its 90% gone beyond the plowed piles.

We got about 9-10 inches on Sat-Sun. Only got up to like 35 or so during the week so it all kinda just compacted into super dense snow. Supposed to snow another 3-5 inches tomorrow and then drop to like 5 degrees F. Road aren't a problem but the snow is getting so high on the sides of my driveway it's really annoying to shovel.
