Still snow, but warm a wet today which really turned on the melt game. January-March just around the corner tho, still plenty of time to get buried

Yeah I was quite hopeful for a white Christmas a few days ago since we got nearly 10", but the weather took a turn - the snow is just about gone save for where big piles were shoveled around driveway entrances mostly. Last white Christmas here was 2009. Boo.

50's and 1.5 inches of rain today. About 6 PM, the temp dropped from 49 to 30 in an hour, change in wind from the SW to NW, sleet then snow with lots of wind. Roads are now totally FUBAR, with 3"+ in just over an hour. Power outage to add to the fun, but not my house.... yet

This was predicted, yet caught everyone by surprise. Just heard a dispatch for stranded motorist that called 911 on the interstate, with 2 kids and about to run out of gas. Turns out after questioning further, they have half a tank of gas.

State?

Time to store some gas for the generator anyway.

Both grandsons are out with their fire departments, one on volunteering on the east side of the county, the other on the west side of the county working his normal shift. They will be a little sleep deprived for Christmas.

Not long after my last post a terrible rainstorm moved in and it was glorious and scary.
We're talking April monsoon type downpour. I bet it destroyed even more of my garden. God dammit. Spring is gonna be expensive for me.

Here too, so much rain and wet warm weather. We still have snow left but it's just all wet and crusty and icy, not the proper stuff. A little more of this weird warm weather and it will be all gone though.

Roads are pretty bad since it froze over, maybe not as bad as southern ice but bad enough to turn 4x4 on. :p

Haha, not here in southern New England. 60F, pouring rain, and the wind knocked out the power around 2AM, not back on yet

Wow that sucks ... I think the big "surprise" storm a awhile back knocked down 95% of the shaky trees/power lines in my area so no issues this time around.

Also watching the radar last night it looked like most of the worst severe weather passed by to our Northwest.

Yea, depends on where ya are. Im in rural western MA. The last decade has done a number on the trees, so plenty are weak enough to drop more limbs or just fall altogether each storm we get.
