I worked the same deal a few months back at about the same price through the last BFL promotion.

Not a bad little printer for the price.

Okay, price is just under $100 - add something small to get over $100, then use one of the available $25 off $100 codes, and apply the $50 MIR.

Cheaper than buying the ink cartridges themselves!

Even better if you price match with BestBuy for 69.50 add something to get to $75 then take a 25 off coupon and then the $50 rebate. I placed a couple of orders, one that they didn't charge any shipping and the next that they charged $11 for next day because BestBuy is only free for ground shipping. Either way a great printer for $11 or $0.

Is the rebate for the printer just one per person, or can one apply for the rebate several times?

Starcastle:

Think you REALLY lucked out. I placed on order online (added a couple of reams of paper to get it over $75 after the PM for the $25 off $75 coupon), then called for the PM.

Two different CSR checked the Best Buy website (as did I). Best Buy not only charges over $25 for overnight shipping, but add a $5 service charge, bring the total over $100! Since I found the same thing myself, I had Staples cancel the order, and we took a print out of the Best Buy price to our local Staples B & M, along with the $10 off $40 code received in an e-mail earlier this month for the B & M, which expires today. With tax, it came out to less than $65 before rebate, net of less than $15.

Someone check me to see if I'm wrong. Staples has a MIR on this but lists expiration as Dec. 02, 2000. Also it's a "gift check", not a direct rebate. Canon's website states the rebate from them ended on Sept. 30, 2000. Did they extend it and if so why isn't it in the rebates section of their "Printers" page?

jbaj007:

There is another rebate - just follow the link on the web page of the printer, or get one at the B & M.

starcastle is right. do what he says above and you'll get the printer for almost free. I did it and it worked like a breeze.

Called Staples for a price match, first CSR wanted to add $25 for shipping, second added $10 for shipping, so I accepted (didn't want to push it).

Cannon BJC-3000: ~$82 (after tax)
$25 off $75 coupon: ~$57
$50 off mail-in rebate: ~$7

Not too bad, I have a printer for less than the cost of an ink cartridge! BTW, anybody know wehre to get cheap ink? If not, I'll probably donate it to the local Goodwill after the ink is finished.
