Anybody know what happened to this thing? They say something that could mean it was discontinued. I have been looking every few days and it hasn't been in stock ever and now this?

"This item is not stocked or has been discontinued."

As far as I understand it would not be in stock until the end of the month
or towards the end of the month.

I don't know if they are going to have much success since the Axion (excuse my spelling)
from Dell is supposed to hit on the 18th

Who knows

I like the fact that all the reviews I have read say that this is the best screen on the market
right now

I guess we have to wait and see

Well, better play around with it in a store before you buy. :) Good price on a pocket PC tho.

I am planning to get the viewsonic. But lets face it Dell has a lot of influence and many
ways to sell tehir products. I don't want to be stuck with a product which will be
discontinued in a year or so.

Anyone has any ideas on what Dell will have out

I've seen the site but - I just don't know if I can't go to touch it and feel it
just to see if I will be confortable with it

Yeah I am waiting on dell to check them out.

Dell's info:

249-50 rebate: 300mhz intel processor, 32mb ram
349-50 rebate: 400mhz intel processor, 64mb ram

secure digital and compact flash slots. jog dial feature.

supposedly dell wanted a premium screen with these babies. also, supposedly they are targeting sub-150 by february. all of the above is from random reports around the internet so don't believe too much.

Face it - if you buy it now and it's a PDA it will probably be discontinued a year from now. And superseded by a faster model. If you want something that won't be discontinued buy headstones
;)
Unless you need it NOW you'll save a lot of $$ waiting.

i got the feeling from this article that the dell has a slightly better screen than the viewsonic. but it sounds like both the dell and the viewsonic are still not as good as the ipaq screens, despite their use of transflective technology. this is unfortunate, as screen quality is right up there with built-in wireless on my must-have features list.

That PC Mag article seems a bit biased toward the HP/Ipaq model. From the specs, I think the Dell would be the way to go.

The screens on all these new devices will be better than any pocket pc out now (beside the ipaq 39xx series). Transflective displays are far FAR better than the horrible reflective displays almost all pocket pcs currently use
