DVD-RAM only drives are becoming obsolescent - the Panasonic DVDburner (resold by que) works with both DVD-R and DVD-RAM. Hence the falling prices...

I'm personally gonna wait until this DVD format war ends. It's very confusing: DVD-R, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD+R, etc, and they are not necessarily compatible with each other.

$50 for what? For the DVD-Rs? If the price of the drive ever gets near $50, I may just crap myself. Also, anyone seen DVD-Rs for cheaper? Getting pretty psyched from the possibilities...

I agree, I am going to wait until they agree on a format. Recent story on the subject.
