Warm - Olympus Olympus C720 $329.99 w/128MB SM

I searched the Hot deals Thread to make sure this wasn't a repost... if so I apologize.

OfficeMax has the Sony DSCP72 Camera advertised this week with a 128MB card tossed in. The official OfficeMax ad substitute list specifies:

"Olympus C720 SKU#2017-9272 UPC#050332137295 -- Price override substitute to $329.99. Use 128MB Smart Media Card as value-add (20189056)"

To summarize: Olympus C720 499.99 + Lexar 128MB Smart Media Card 69.99 - 239.99 = 329.99 +TX

Because this is listed on the in-store ad substitution sheet, it's likely B&M only YMMV, which also is YMMV for he officemax coupons. At the bottom of the sheet though it expressly states that " NOTES: The substitue must be offered in all stores. The rain check should only be offered in stores if the raincheck column is marked with a 'YES'. " I'd provide you all with a scan of the sheet but I don't currently have webspace. Additionally, officemax.com lists the camera for $399.99 on special for $100 off, but without a memory card.

One more thing, if the substitute sells out, ask them to have it delivered and present an officemax coupon. In most cases you'll get it honored and free shipping to boot.

Cheers

These seem to be fetching about $330 on ebay. If you throw a 50/250 coupon on top, it's a pretty good deal. Hopefully OfficeMax.com will be OOS on the Sony's soon.

I love my Olympus C-3040. It's been an absolutely fantastic camera. Although, I've outgrown it, and plan to e-bay it. I want to get a pro-digital set up.

I have the Camedia - It's awesome for zoom / sport shots... I have the original in the series (10X optical), and it still rivals the units out there today, even though mine is 2.1MP...
Very nice deal...

If you can find one, the C730 is actually the camera to get. It has all the features of the 720, plus supports smart media AND XD memory, audio with the video clips, and it costs about the same price. Problem is you can't find any major retailers that have it anymore 🙁

I'd really like to find a camera that has 8x + zoom, uses SD memory, and costs under $600, but there aren't really many alternatives with these specifications other than Olympus. My 3000Z has been the best camera I've ever owned, but I don't really like their new memory formats, so I think I'm going to drop Olympus and go with someone else.

actually, the olympus 700series isn't that good, cause the optical zoom isn't stabilized. without a tripod it's unusable. what's a really good deal right now is the panasonic fz1. it has12X optically stabilized zoom, only 2 megapixel (which is usually more than enough). it goes for $450, but with 10% off from goodguys and no tax and shipping you can get it for $405

Nah....3 MP is what I need. I do a lot fo 8x10's. The Oly isn't stabilized, but if you do the elbow tuck method, you can get it pretty steady.
