Ok guys here is one of the most highly rated power supplies for $130 AR. Yes its still expensive for a power supply but this is an investment that will last you 2-3 years and will help you OC your system to its limits.

I myself am slowly buying my hardware for a hopefully awesome core 2 duo system. This is by far the most ive ever spent on a ps. I have a Thermaltake purepower 480w ps now (which has served me well for its cost) but this thing out to blow it out of the water. I don't think i will have any problems with my OC because of my power supply after this. Here are some of the reviews of this monstor and they seem to be very very good:

http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/reviews/cases/OCZ_GameXStream_700W_1.html
http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/OCZ_GXS_700W_PSU/

The only thing i can say i wish this thing had since i think it ought to have every feature since thie PS is so expensive is a modular design but oh well still looks like a hell of a power supply.

Oh yes newegg has the same deal but its about $1 more for me. Hey a dollar is a dollar ;) and anyways monarch is closer to where i live so i will probably get it quicker.

Edit: for some reason when i try to pull up the rebate part of the time i get an old rebate. I any case here is the rebate you should use:

This psu from the manufacturer costs $160 from newegg (FSP).

Edit: just a note, the only computer that will need a 1200W PSU is one running 4x 500GB WD PATA drives in RAID 0, 2x 7800GTX, P4 EE, 5x 120mm SilverStone fans running full blast, SB x-fi Plat, 4GB DDR RAM, 2x DVD-RW drives, 5x LED CC lights, all OCed to the edge, and probably more. And I don't predict that DX10 cards in SLi will require this much power anyway.

Yep it seems like a sweet power supply.

Quad rail notion is very misleading. The specs don't specify the combined load on those rails, however if you subtract 5V and 3.3V max load from total combined load of 680W you'll get 680W-155W = 525W. Divide that by 12 and you get max load of only 44A on all of those four rails.

quad rails are making it into the masses, but that's more of a PR gimmipick IMO as the combined load still stays the same.

True. And with quad rails, you also have to manage what's attached to each rail, to prevent the possibility of overloading one of them. With a single large rail you don't have to worry about that.

But, $130 is still a pretty good deal for 700 watts of high quality FSP Group goodness.

I won't disagree with you that DX10 cards won't need 1200 watts but they will require a ton of power. This is when the 700w unit will hopefully shine. From anandtechs reviews there are starting to come out with power supplies just for video cards. Apparently after the DX10 cards then nvidia/ati will try to reduce power consumption on thier video cards.

That may be true but i don't think you will find a power supply in the 600-700w range with a single 12v rail. Least not that im aware of. According to reviews this psu was able to psu enough juice to each rail without really breaking a sweat under load.

I stand corrected. Sorry. I was just looking at one of the most highly rated power supplies out there today (seasonic 600w) and even it has two 12V rails. One of the reviews said the psu labels each of the rails very distinctivly labeled so you can tell the difference. Still think its going to be a hell of a powersupply and this psu definitly won't be holding an overclock back. As someone noted above i believe this power supply is made my FSP (Top rate contruction).

Ok if you order from this deal don't expect to get it quick. They sent me a email monday stating that i should recieve a tracking email in 2-3 days. Of course after 2-3 days nothing. They are really bad responding to their emails and if you call near the end of their time 1hr before close you will get a message that sounds like this "the person you are trying to call voicemail box is full". Oh yes and they charge your card immediatly. They don't wait till they ship. So if all of this doesn't bother you then its still a good deal. Just make sure you are able to mail the rebate by August 25th or it will be invalid.
