I got the camera before Christmas (they had 2 day shipping free), and it was a perfectly normal, new, not gray-market unit.

My co-worker bought this along with an epson printer today. (it comes with a $99 rebate till the end of the year) so free printer.. and she already had nikon lenses, so it worked out for her.

Plus living in CA = no tax like the OP says!

I read the site as saying $869 after the $100 rebate, not $769, are there actually 2 $100 rebates then?

1. $100 Cash back rebate on D70/D70 kit
2. $100 Rebate if purchased with a qualifying printer (free $100 printer)
