I just ran across this WRN2000-100NAR Refurbished. $19.99 with code EMCKJKF43

I've been looking to upgrade some of my g access points. I wouldn't say that this is the best unit around, but it's in my price range, so if they don't last, I won't be too disappointed.

The v2 version is supposed to have a broadcom chip and can run dd-wrt, which is what I'm looking to do with it when it comes in.

if I bridge a G router along with this. Will the speed drop to G or will this stay as N the other as G.

So if I connect G items to the G router and N stuff to the N router, I shouldn't see the N router drop to G speeds right ?

I installed this very same router last week, and it's been working great so far. "Refurb" but I couldn't tell from the packaging. All accessories were included.

Got one at tigerdirect a couple weeks ago for 14.99. Version 1 for me. Seems to work great though.

I'm tempted get a couple but I'm looking at the reviews and people are reporting their units dying after a few weeks of use.

:hmm:

I bought three of these last time Newegg had them on sale. True to the pictures, they are only V1, not V2. So no DD-WRT.

V1 with newest firmware (included on mine) does do WDS bridging, with up to four nodes. But the encryption has to be set to NONE or WEP. So it's kind of useless. :(

Did you at least get the A/C adapters for each of them?

Newegg networking refurb deals are amazing. This is nothing short of a HOTTTTTT deal.

I picked up this Wireless N router (and repeater!) as it was the cheapest solid sub $35 router available before Christmas. I only wish this deal in the OP was available then.

The only bad thing with the router I can see in the OP is the lack of attachable antennas. That's kind of a big deal to me. I have run long wires(to and from antennas) and set up networks with a great deal of range, and this wouldn't be possible with this router. And DD-WRT doesnt look possible.

Otherwise, this is a hot deal on a solid wireless N router.

Sure why not. $20 is worth it.

Hopefully it allows for just "Access Point" mode like LInksys routers do.

Hi, long time non-registered user's first post. Having owned this router purchased from newegg for a year (v1) I can say that this is NOT a hot deal - the gigabit switch works wonderfully but the wireless is real flaky. In an all n network with the router set at 300 the speed would be fine but the ping would sometimes exceed a full second. Adding in b and g clients I get all sorts of dropped connections and have to reset the router every day or two. Dropping the router down to 54/144 or whatever and I still get dropped connections with my b and g clients. QOS and uPNP seem to be the culprits - these days I can keep it running for a week if I turn off *all* services except for some forwarded ports but I still don't get anywhere near n speeds from my n clients and still get dropped connections with my b an g clients. Add in it's silly sleep mode and you'll sometimes spend a minute refreshing a page before it loads if you've been offline for awhile. Haven't seen a firmware update in over a year and don't expect dd-wrt support for a long time (or a lot of leg work). If you can get the v2, by all means, this probably is a hot deal once it's got dd-wrt on it. Until then it's garbage and I wish I hadn't cl'd my wrt54g - spend $20 more on a linksys refurb or $50 on a wndr3700 refurb (check amazon from td). All tests done with comcast 12/2 and motorola sb6120.

Just one very unhappy customer to another! :)

I'm not hugely impressed with the router. It was cheap but it's verision 1 and has little alternative firmware support. I did setup a WDS bridge which was my goal of the system anyway. I tested a connected laptop using netio. and here's what I got. I'm not sure how good or bad this is, so I would appreciate some feedback. I'll also post to networking.

I have a used/installed a few of these and haven't had any problems what so ever.

Great deal as far as I am concerned.
