See if Staples will pricematch BJ's Wholesale Club at 49.99 to save (gasp) an extra dollar!

BJ's is primarily mid-atlantic/east coast, though.

What's wrong with the MX1000?
Yes, yes! What's wrong with the MX1000? I only know 2 people with it, but they love it.

Got it for $62 from NewEgg 3 days ago. Upgrade from my MX510 and also my first wireless mouse - absolutely love it so far. Feels much better, functionality is great. The only issue I had with it is that the default forward and back actions do not seem to work in FireFox, but this is easily solved by having it emulate Alt-Left and Alt-Right key strokes.

Hope that helps a bit :)

All MX1000's have a pickup delay (when you pickup the mouse to reposition it) also, many of the mice have come with defective recievers which causes your cursor to shoot straight up or to the left.

This mouse is not a gaming mouse and Logitech will not RMA if you have the pickup delay, since ALL MX1000's have this issue.

I'm afraid it is a fine gaming mouse. I have no complaints. People can find a problem with ANYTHING if they look hard enough! Very happy with mine. I'm aware of this complaint but its a non issue with most people including most gamers.

Yeah the pickup delay isn't a problem if you don't pick up the mouse when using it. I bet you could get an RMA for the receiver problem.

Of course, you can wait until the 1010 (my guess at the model number of the next rev) comes out which will fix these problems and then get the 1000 for cheap. :)

I would consider this but I can't justify it when my intellimouse explorer is working perfectly fine.

I've got absolutely no clue what you're talking about... There is no delay when you pick it up and place it. The mouse starts working around 5 millimeters off the ground, pick it up as much as like and place it back in any way, as soon as it's inside that range it beings to track perfectly.

As for gaming, so far it's been great in CS for me, and I've gotten really used to my MX510.

Every review I read says that the best thing about it is that unlike most optical mice, there is no "pickup delay," whatsoever, it works as soon as you put your hand on it.

Will this mouse work to replace the one I use that came with a cordless elite duo?

Any delay, if even noticable, is by design as the laser must shut off to prevent the
idiot from looking into it an possibly hurting their eye when lifted. This is and will be a requirment
on all laser mice. They will not RMA something that isn't broken.
Granted I have heard of some that the delay is greater then on others, but as long as you don't lift
the mouse off a surface during heavy action then you will never even have the possibility of any delay.

I have experienced reciever problems with this mouse, but I also had some with my previous 2 wireless mice as well. It's an issue with interference and not just a MX1000 issue. I simply moved my reciever to a slightly different location and all is well again.

Having said that I game often with it an it's by far the best and most accurate mouse I have ever owned.
I do not notice any delay in even the most intense games.

Those with long fingers should test the feel before buying. I have shorter fingers and it works well for me,
but the shape could be an issue for larger hands.

Any So called issues with this mice are blown way out of proportion by people who do not know the real deal.
If you are worried by the possibility of a delay then don't ever get a laser mouse or even a wireless mouse as both technologies have their inherent quirks.

This mouse is using a class 1 laser - this type will not hut your eyes and I can assure that they did not design a delay in for that purpose. The 5mm distance that I'm talking about is what is needed for the laser to bounce back up into the receiver - any higher then that and it just misses it. Even class 2/2a lasers are not considered harmful until prolonged exposure. Google is your friend :p
