This is my first deal post - seemed warm to me.

Overstock.com is selling refurbished Logitech Wingman Formula Force GP Steering Wheels at $42.99 with FREE SHIPPING.

See it here: Logitech Force Feedback Wheel

I know Overstock.com doesn't have the greatest reseller rating, but I've ordered a couple of things from them in the last few months, including one of these wheels, and had no problems. Don't know about this deal, but when I ordered I got the GT racing game too.

My son and I have really enjoyed the wheel. Seems to be solidly made and force feedback effects are good.

There are a few reviews on the web for this product. The consensus is that it has great feel and nice pedals, but the base is a little light and the clamping is a little subpar with no rubber coating for grip. The power supply apparently is kind of big too. One of the reviews said it works with PS2 games, and specifically GT3 works perfectly with it. So it's good for PC and PS2 gamers! I think I'm going to pick one up. Thanks! :)

I bought 2 of the non force feedback wheels from Overstock and neither of them worked. Besides that, they were trashed. There is no way that these were just refurbs unless the people at Logitech just pulled them out of the boxes and threw them in a pile because they had scratches and hacks all over them. Someone did try to make them look more presentable though by putting what appeared to be armorall on them. I bought two joysticks from overstock and neither of them worked correctly. After about 2 months, 2 phone calls and several emails, I finally have my money back. BTW.. Overstock's fulfilliment house for these items is Justdeals. I think that was part of the problem actually because if overstock is not bad enough, they put you in bed with Justdeals, which is horrible from what I've heard.

Just my experience.. Take from it what you want.

Just so you know this is NOT the original Logitech Wingman Formula Force, but is instead the GP.
Logitech has replaced the original with the Momo, while making slight upgrades to the original.
You can see all Logitech wheels here
The original was one of the best you could get:
Wheel comparisons (old)
Link to many reviews of both old and new wheel

They also have made a cheaper version, and released it as the GP.

Big difference between the two.
Price, quality and features.
The easy way to tell them apart is the wheel.
Normal wheel is all red wheel with black center, and 4 buttons visable.
GP wheel is mixed colors, and normally red and black.
Have seen the GP priced at $60 retail at CompUSA, while the normal non-GP wheel rarely hits under $100.
Computers 4 sure has this New Retail for $42.95

Even though the GP is of poorer quality then the original, for the price it is still a great thing to have.

Apparently almost all USB wheels can work on the Playstation2...I haven't tried it myself however so I cannot say for sure

I went ahead and bought the Momo wheel and love it! It is compatible with the PS2 FWIW.. I think Shagger is right in saying that all USB wheels should work with the PS2.

Now.. Are you sure that this is the Formula Force wheel because the picture sure isn't. The Force wheel had the rubber on the entire wheel and not just up by the thumb grips. This might be worth a shot if it is the Force wheel because that wheel was a good one. You'd better call or write and ask first though because if it is the wrong one, you'll be out your money for a while.

Thanks for all the feedback. I can confirm that the clamping mechanism is one of the weak points and the sliding base is another. Overall, though, I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

Any ideas on how to fit rubber over the clamps to improve the grip?

Thanks.

You are thinking of the original FF wheel, not the new FF "GP" wheel.
Take a look at the link to all Logitech wheels I posted above.
You will see that this is indeed the new lowend WingMan Formula Force GP.
