@ compusa starting Sunday March 18, IBM Active Response keyboards $9.99 after $10 MIR. IBM has had a history of making some of the best quality keyboards, and these are no exception. They came and still come with the IBM netfinity servers...i don't know why, I really love the touch...available in white or black..

We have a few of those that came with the Netfinity's at work.

The black ones are pretty cool.

Are these the quiet ones? As in the ones, that don't make that horrible loud clicking noise when you type? LMK, thanks! ;)

They probably aren't anything like IBM keyboards of the past, which were made by IBM or Lexmark and used a buckling coil spring and lever mechanism for each key switch. Rather, they're probably made by NMB, the company that has provided Microsoft Natural keyboards, and use plungers that press rubber cups.

dammit!! I just bought one of these like a week ago from CrapUSA for $40..

Now I gotta go buy a couple more "backups"

Been typing a lot and the IBM is WAY nicer than the MS natural.. yeah it's not ergonomic, and yeah it has no special features but the key feedback feels great and it's very quiet.

This looks like a pretty good deal. I think I might get one. It would definately go nicely with my Black IBM P96 monitor and my Antec SX1030B case.

Well I just ordered a nice black IBM keyboard. Hopefully, I get it soon.:) Thanks for the deal.

Hmm, Sounds like a good deal I want it to make clicking noise, it's cool you can annoy people sitting around you when you type fast! :)

Damn it! I work at IBM and they don't give me one of these! I've been using one of the really loud clicking ones, everytime I press a key, the other guy in my office asks if I can keep it down. They're too cheap to even use the keyboards they give their customers with the netfinity!

I LOVE the Loud clicking IBM K/B though. The feedback of that K/B is just GREAT! And the clicking noise really annoys my little bro.

The original IBM PC Keyboards had the tactile feedback and 'click' designed in to make them feel and sound like a typewriter keyboard.

In the very early 1980's most people getting PC's were using electric typewriters at the time, and didn't like the soft-touch 'membrane' keyboards.

I still have 2 or 3 new second generation(PS/2-MiniDIN) keyboards stashed in the garage.

I love the IBM keyboard with clicking noise too. For some reason the noise provides a good feedback to me.

Might get a black one to go with my Dell 8100 :)

On the same note, I HIGHLY recommend the Solidtek ACK-260 series keyboards. They have an awesome clicking sound, but it is not difficult to press. I got mine @ the robert austin computer show in the bay are for $6. They have a USB version too:

I actually prefer it to my IBM active response and the MS naturual pro/elite...

"houses 104 quiet keys"
I don't think this one would click at all.
It would still be a fairly good deal though.
Too bad I already have a backup KB.:(

Is there a link to the rebate? Does it come from IBM or CompUSA (the latter meaning we might not see them?). I have an MS Internet Keyboard but it's not as comfortable as it first appeared.
