Warm/Hot? deal on sony vvega 32fs16 and possibly others if conditions are right.

was able to score a sony kv-32fs16 vvega for $899.10. montgomery ward's was selling this set for 999$ (normally 1099$). the sale ends today but they will be doing the same thing in a few more weeks. sears has it for 1049$, got them to pricematch down to 999$, then applied for the card and took 10% off. i ordered this out of state and was able to avoid taxes (no sears retailers in my state that were close). they asked about shipping and since it charged it over the phone i was able to pick it up, avoiding sales tax AND shipping charges. im not 100% sure that they did that right on the tax, but maybe you'll get lucky if things are right. 32" vvega pip for 899.10 imo was a killer deal when msrp is 1299$.

If there were no close Sears in your area, and you had to phone in the order, then how did you end up picking it up?

not a sears in my state, i purchased it from a neighboring state (live within 45 minutes of 4 states). since i ordered it from a store not in my state i had them invoice it to me here to avoid state sales tax (ie: live in texas, order from arkansas to avoid sales tax). err that still doesnt make sense

invoice is from an arkansas sears billing me in texas (so no sales tax).
drove an hour and 45 minutes to the sears in AR and picked it up

btw i also called the sears credit place and they said that card incentives are store specific, the ones in the areas here were offering the 10% off to new card holders, others are only offering $10 off or 0% no interest for 3 months.

Got it... thanks for clearing it up. BTW... If you drove an hour and 45 minutes to pick it up, and you factor in the high gas prices right now, you may not have saved any shipping cost at all! hehehe I couldn't resist that! LOL

Igot the Sony Wega 32" with the speakers on under the screen for 724.99 after 20% rebate at sears, 10% for using sears card, and 10% for using their coupon they send to all sears customers that have the card. Hella kewl tv and hella good price.
