FilePlanet has a new deal going on, this time for quarterly subscriptions. It's $9.95 a quarter(i.e. $39.80 a year), which is cheaper than either their normal price of $6.95/month($83.40/year), or their last deal of 3.95/month($47.40/year). It's really any cheaper than their current yearly deal of $39.95/year, but for those of us afraid of commitments, it's a smaller term.

Why would anyone want to get gorged by this company $40 a year for access to there high speed servers and old limited exclusive content oh and dont forget a chance to be a beta tester for an unfinished games, unlikely. There is plenty of other alternatives that are free. This deal is Frigidly cold.

1. Hope that there will be some type of BF2 exclusive demo/beta before it's released in June

2. 2005 E3 Instant access

Don't get me wrong, it's not something you enjoy paying for, but if you do more than a bit of downloading, it's a must-have for that reason alone, and the beta access is a nice perk(though GameSpy bribing all distributors in to doing FP exclusives makes them jerks).
