I have seen a couple of threads on webhosting so i figured I would mention this:

www.redpulse.com -

Right now if you use the promo code: SPECIAL the setup fee is only $10

And the monthly fee is $10. You get 50mb of space,
unlimited email accounts and forwards
php4
mysql
cgi-bin
and 24/7 tech support.

I know alot of us have already tried hostica.. but their support is hella hard to get in touch with. This place
seems noticibly faster, and you can actually reach the support department. Hostica literally took me about 4 days
to get a password change (and when I called support I kept getting a voice mail).

Warm?

Sorry but thats really not that hot, right now the support that is needed is coldfusion, now if you could get cf for that price it would be a steal, but a lot of those features you can find on free sites with no adds, warm deal for those just looking for simple hosting... at a low cost, but other than that I wouldnt recommend it.

Yeah I just know I own a couple of domains for email and my own little news section. Probably not for people who want to do a whole bunch of programming. Just curious, what are some sites that use coldfusion, or is it backend like mysql?

Dude... PHP kicks ColdFusions butt. You don't want to believe it because ColdFusion sounds so good and looks so professional but take a look at all the people migrating away from ColdFusion to PHP. I'm not saying ColdFusion is worthless but wait until you take an honest look at both languages and try them before declaring ColdFusion a winner. For examples of people moving away from ColdFusion look to the web development list (email) at evolt.org.

edit: here is the thread in which this should have been posted: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=40&threadid=568654
One big thread on a topic is much more valuable than a bunch of small ones ;).

edit: mindwarp - check the thread above. Hostiva.com looks pretty good but I'm researching it right now (groups.google.com & sort by date is a great place to find info on hosting along with everything else on usenet)
