For the prices that I have been paying lately, this seems like a hot deal to me, but you be the judge.

Epson Glossy Photo Paper, 100 ct. - $19.99 @ Costco ~11/01/00

I recently paid $15.99 for a 20 ct. @ Staples; $9.99 for 10 ct. @ CompUSA/BestBuy. ~10/15/00

FYI - I recall reading a post regarding purchasing photo paper from a company called xpedx. Checked their website, but didn'y know what to look for. I stopped by their local shop (Orlando, FL) - sales help wasn't very... I was told they only had one type of (bulk)ink jet photo paper ... King James cast coat cover. They said I could take a few samples to test at home.

To me, this paper would be better suited for color laser printing, as the areas in the photos that were HEAVY black/dark colors just left a wet build up of ink. The lighter areas looked fantastic!

Comes in several weights 8pt, 10pt, 12pt (8 seems roughly equal to the Epson product).

A ream contains 250 sheets
8pt = $12.15/ream
10pt = $14.75/ream
12pt = $16.86/ream

A good deal to those who can use it.

Enjoy!

You can try the xpedx website - I would recommend going into a b&m store if possible, as I was clueless as to what I would need based on the website's offerings. I guess they expect you to know what you need - their website is geared toward someone in the print/publishing industry.

You will have to fill out a brief form to gain limited access (good for 5 logins, I believe), but you'll be able to have a look around.

Hope this helps ...

Pogomips,
The paper my Costco has for 100 sheets/$19.99 is the Epson Photo Quality Ink Jet Paper, not the much better Epson Photo Quality Glossy paper that usually sells for 20 sheets/$10 (at buy.com). I did pick up (at Costco) a 50 sheet pack of Konica Photo Quality High Gloss Ink Jet Paper for $12.49. It's heavier than the Epson Glossy paper and seems to have the same type of finish. I'll print out a photo on my Epson Photo 750 on the Konica paper and let you know how it turns out.

The only photo paper I've had good luck with is the real heavy Canon stuff. Everything else curls up even though it's supposed to be good.

I tried printing a couple of photos on the Konica paper. The colors are a lot paler/washed out on the Konica paper than on the Epson paper dangit!! If anyone can find some paper that's less than 50 cents a stinkin sheet and can produce as high quality photos as the Epson Photo Quality Glossy Paper please let me know!!

I will double check the Epson product name. It is entirely possible that I got it wrong. I have noticed that Epson seems to be somewhat inconsistant in their product names; they seem to be evolving, so it is difficult sometimes to figure out what it is called now/what it used to be called. I have seen one or two products with a disclaimer of sorts "formally xxx-blah-xxx".

I did purchase the Epson Photo Quality Ink jet paper not long ago - this is definitely not the Glossy Photo Paper that I just purchased (100pk) - it may be a new product, as it has a blurb on the packaging "now in 100 pk" or somesuch thing.

I apologize for my ramblings, I will verify the product names when I get home from work and will post for anyone interested.

Pogo;)
