ABC Warehouse has a NEC 17" Chroma Clear CRT monitor for $99 after mail in rebate,15.6" viewable, Factory Refurbished and Guaranteed item #37460, that is the only info the add had in it but I think the the monitor can be found here NEC, goto knowledgebase, NEC Displays, MultiSync XV Series, MS XV17+....CHROMACLEAR, since this is the only 17" I could find that said "Chroma Clear". 17-inch (15.6" viewable image size) CROMACLEAR® CRT, 0.25 mm mask pitch, 1024 x 768 @ 55 to 100 Hz, 1280 x 1024 @ 55 to 75 Hz, This monitor also includes NEC's OSM (On-Screen Manager) controls. Is this a deal?? You decide

Thanks Sparty.

Went to B&M ABC(Battle Creek, MI) today. They didn't have any in stock. But the salesman wanted to sell me a more expensive model. I mentioned the old bait & switch, and the salesman said we don't do that at ABC. I said "You're kidding right?" The price is $139.00 with a $40.00 rebate if anyone cares.

RossMAN,

I know that there is A location in Indiana, in fact that is the only one I have ever been to,even though I live in Michigan, it is the closest to me, but seeing that there is only one listed in "South Bend" ( which is wrong, it is in Mishawaka ), I didn't want everybody else in Indiana to wonder where the He11 ABC was in Indiana. I figured that anyone in the South Bend/Mishawaka/Elkhart/Niles area would recongnize the name of the store and put two and two together. But I changed it anyways. Do you live in the Michiana area?? Or anyone for that matter, I don't seem to have much competition at OM/OD/Staples Hot Deals around here.

bygdaddy, call over to the K-zoo store to see if they have any.

Guys,

I work for ABC Warehouse in Bay City, MI. DO NOT buy these monitors. I sold five of them in two weeks, four of them came back defective and with a headache to boot. The more expensive model he told you about, it is an Envision 17" that runs $179 - $50 rebate = $129 final cost. These monitors give me no problems, they are msde by AOC. They come with a 3 yr mnufactuer's warranty on them as well. I have their 19" model right now, I upgraded from the 17". I loved the 17 and currently love the 19. They make some awesome monitors.

Don't get me wrong about the monitors, they may look good when they run. But, they don't stay running for long. ABC will exchange them if they are defective right away, but six months later it is RMA time. If you buy one, keep the UPC in tact for at least two weeks. Let the monitor prove to you that it is going to stay running.

Just a little insider info.
