Circuit City has the Classic CLL CM431 for $49.99 ($10 off).
The unit is pretty basic (READ: you only reference files/songs by number) but played bitrates from 32 ~320 with no issues. Reviews on the unit seem to be fair (but not great) -- although you have better luck with them if you can get one manufactured after October (as near as I can tell, you have to open the package to find the manufactured date).
The one I got was manufactured 11/2001 and seems to play all my mp3 CD's (CD-R & CDRW's) and music CD's. Headphones aren't the best, but since I'm using it to play audio books in my car, who cares?
