I've been looking for a USB CDRW that could be used on my laptop and desktops. Staples has the Acer for $149.99. I bought it at BestBuy using the 10% difference pricematch for $146.94.

A bad deal compared to IDE drives but a good price for USB CDRW.

I have tried it on all 3 computers that I have (2 desktops and 1 laptop) and it works great -- WinME and 98.

I did not trust acer either. I was told that this is made by IBM. I do not know if that is correct.

I do know that I have burnt several CD's with it and it is easier to use than my previous 8250 HP IDE.

It came with Adaptec CD creator and DirectCD.

It is 4x4x6.

The acer drive is not listed at Staples online for some reason. It is available in the B&M store and at BestBuy.
