Just so you guys know, I have the dxr2 decoder card and it uses an internal pass-thru cable. That's not normally a problem, but some video cards and motherboard chipsets have issues with it.

DXR2?? I haven't seen much of that card lately, mostly are now DXR3's. Didn't they stop manufacturing and support for that card?

They both have pass thru cables and works great with Nvidia cards. So far I tried using it (my DXR2 & DXR3 from my sisters pc) with TNT2, Geforce256, Geforce2 cards and works perfectly. It can make a good interpolation of VCD videos making it near DVD quality picture. (just my 2 cents)

Dxr2 = crap

Avoid this card like crazy, I never got it to work correctly with three different systems and it killed a PCI card as well (don't ask me how, it just did). I like the Dxr3 just slightly better, but it don't work well with LCDs. Software DVD is the safest route to go. But to each his own...

I originally bought the Encore package like 3 years ago with the 2x DVD drive and Dxr2 card and remembered it had an external pass-thru cable and seemed to work perfectly fine for me. Just making a DVD box for the front room, so this should be fine, I hope.

ive been using the DXR2 in win2k since win2k came out..there are win2k drivers for it..works great

link

still got my old DXR2 from my old..long dead 2x dvd drive

only annoying thing is the svideo port is shaped just like a ps/2 port so you have to have creative's cable
anyone know if the DXR3 is the same?
