I think the title covers everything, so don't thread crap here about TD, please.
And for newbies, a lot of people have had bad experience with TD-specific rebates in the past, so consider this as a possible "risk takers" deal.
All of these deals have been posted elsewhere independently (and promptly thread crapped on). What makes this combo interesting is it's pretty much just $2 - $6 more in ground shipping than buying any one of the items invdividually. I am posting this as a service to you and not trying to steal anyone's thunder.
The goods:
Mercury Diamond Black computer case with 300-watt power supply
$39.99 - Manufacturer $40 REBATE (expires 6-30-04) = -$0.01
Not worth $40 in my book, for sure. But free? Ok. If you buy this by itself, shipping on it alone runs about $15.
NOTE: Rebate form indicates that "lost" rebate claims will not be evaluated unless proof of receipt is provided. In other words, you are advised to send this rebate in either Certified, Registered and/or Signature Confirmation. This may just be them protecting themselves, but then again, it may not.
Seagate 200 gig/8 meg cache/7200 rpm OEM ATA-100 hard drive
$129.99 - TigerDirect $40 REBATE (expires 6-10-04) = $89.99
This is the rebate everyone will howl that won't be paid. The rebate "center" processing them isn't exactly online yet (www.onrebate.com), but that could change tomorrow, too.
Chaintech 7VIF4 VIA KM400 mATX AMD Athlon XP motherboard (166MHz CPU Max) -OR- 9VIF4 VIA P4M266A mATX P4 motherboard (133MHz CPU max)
$64.99 - Manufacturer $40 REBATE (expires 6-30-04) = $24.99
Older technology motherboards, but definitely the right price after rebate.
(NOTE #1: There are other Chaintech items you could order...see the rebate form.)
(NOTE #2: Yes, I know the Chaintec 7VIF4 has a shipping date of 7-14 days. My case and hard drive were shipped 6-4; motherboard will ship when it comes in. You also have plenty of time to get that rebate form in.)
Shipping ran me about $17 UPS Ground.
Also, you can get an additional 2% back from Ebates.com (I've received checks for over $210 in the last two years!)
So you're looking at about $252 - $120 in rebates = $132 - $5 to $6 in Ebates = $127 or $126
I bit.
