My cingular plan is up on 12/14... they don't automatically renew your contract do they? Seems like something skangular would do... the way you guys have been talking is that on 12/14 i become a "free agent," able to cancel anytime, right?

nuts, I found out that my plan isn't up until another year. Anyone have any tips to talk those CSR's into giving you credit? I just called and the lady was ready to cancel my account on the spot. I stopped her and told her that I'd do it later on. She didn't sound too happy either.

I must have gotten the most "by the company line" reps at Cingular today. Called , threatening to cancel to go to another carrier (AT&T) because I wanted the 6340i and Cingular really wants too darn much for that phone. What did they offer me ? - Zip, zilch, nada , nothing. I even mentioned that AT&T had a comparable phone (6360), and if you go to the Nokia usa site and enter your zip code it would list the following promos for my area : $130 (phone) - $50 MIR - second $50 MIR = $30 + $50 gift card, with no activation fee.

BTW, the site Nokia refers you to is LetsTalk.com. They even have some Cingular deals better than my local stores, but unfortunately for me they don't carry the 6340i yet 🙁 .
