This is my first post, so take it easy...

Computerhq.com has a combo special of AMD XP1800+ Retail box CPU plus IWill XP333 motherboard for $185. The lowest price on pricewatch for the IWill board is $82 and lowest price for the retail boxed CPU is $107. I never ordered anything from www.computerhq.com before, anyone got any experiences with them?

Looks like a good company. You'll probably get your product but you may experience some inconvienence.

BTW, shipping is $10 for the least expensive one.. Making the price at least $195.. Decent FedEX shipping would be $15, making it $200.. Still a good deal though :)

The Frys in Wilsonville OR. had a similar deal with an OEM CPU for 189. Bout the same once you get a HSF. I think these boards have 6.1 sound.

BUMP!

The XP333 motherboard that is being included a.) HAS 5.1 Channel CMI8738 audio b.) Does NOT have the HighPoint HPT372 RAID controller

Excellent deal overall, very nice find, Fry's is still selling a similar combo (with the XP333-R motherboard and OEM 1800+) for $299, so, this is a steal for people who are looking for a retail XP CPU and XP333 motherboard

Peace

I bought an OEM 1800+ for $108 and the XP333 goes for $70. Add a ten dollar fan of your choice - which will probably be better than stock retail - to make this a warm deal.

well according to PW the cheapest price is $106 for retail XP 1800+ and $82 for the XP333 which comes to 192 for the both of em. This is really warm, but not good enough IMO to be hot. Really good if u just happen to need these two parts, but if you don't have a need for it, there should be better ones later on.

i bought this combo last christmas @ Outpost (w/ RAID for $289)....great combo :)....no serious problems yet...VERY stable and the O/C microstepping is a great feature...i using the SVC Golden Gate which is also on sale right now for $14.99.

p.s. - big issue with this board and most that use DDR ram is that the ram has to be VERY firmly set into place...so the best way to do this is set the board on a flat non-conductive surface and push down until the clips clip into place....if you just use the clips to push down the ram then the board probably wont POST. ;)
