All my HP 16x TY's have been burned at 48x with no problems. Not a single bad disk. Had to turn smart burn off to burn faster than 16x though. These disks are great. Better at 4.99 but great none the less.

Have people been finding these? I need to check my Sears tomorrow 🙂 I need some CD-R's WITHOUT a sketchy $40 rebate

I have yet to check my local Sears. I went to the monday but that was a mistake, lines out the door and stuff, just turned around.
Checked online, but not listed. Sure hope they have some. Last time I went they got them out of the wearhouse, so you might want to ask them to actually check if they have any. None on the shelf may not mean none in the store.

Good luck. 😉

My local Sears still has several remaining as of 12/31/02. I went back today and picked up a second pack and saw even more than I did a few days ago.

I don't know if its the same way nationwide, but my Sears does not have a price listed for the HP CDRs. Neither the $29.95 or $9.97 is shown. That probably explains why they are not selling locally.

Well, I checked my Sears today, and they didn't have any HP cd-r's. I'll have to ask next time if they have any in the back or in the computer.

Sears in King of Prussia had about 5 packs left on the shelf after I got to them. They may have more in storage, who knows.

The first one I picked up had a sticker for 29.90. Someone then took a red marker and wrote 9.97 on it. Picked up 4 spindles. Got plenty of CDs now.

I picked up a spindle of these at the Sears in Charlotte, NC @ Carolina Place Mall...they still had 2 packs left...didn't want to deal with the rebates at BB...

thanks for the deal...i picked up a couple when i was in houston for the holidays a few weeks ago. (my parents' house is 3 mins from willowbrook mall).

Anyone know the name of that application that identifies who makes different CD-R media? And anyone know if it works with DVD-R discs? Thanks.

Wasn't it something like CDinfo? not sure though. I know what you are talking about, though I never used it myself.

There are several websites dedicated to CD-R/W, DVD-R/W and DVD+R/W media. vcdinfo might be a good start, even though I don't think they do have the actual application they may have a link to it.

The program is called CDRIdentifier. I don't believe it works on DVD-R media, since the program has not been updated for the longest time...
